Thermoplastic Polyolefins (TPO) waterproof membrane is a high-end synthetic polymer roll material made by unique formula and special process combining the weather resistance and heat resistance of Ethylene-Propylene (EP) rubber with the weldability of polypropylene. The membrane has excellent physical and environmental performance, featuring both the weather resistance of EP rubber and the weldability of plastic, making it particularly suitable for large-scale single-layer flexible roof waterproof systems and other important engineering waterproofing.
Waterproofing projects of various industrial and civil buildings, underground roofs and roofs, including green roofs, concrete roofs, slope roofs, light steel structure roofs, and exposed and non-exposed roofs.
Waterproofing of subway, highway and railway tunnels, bridges, civil air defense engineering, etc.
Waterproofing of municipal engineering such as large grain storage, beam making yards, garbage landfills, artificial lakes, various pipe trenches, etc.
Base treatment: The base must be flat, dry, clean and free of phenomena such as empty drum, sand rising, cracking, etc. Water, ice or snow must be removed to prevent moisture absorption in the new roof and roof system. Before laying the membrane, remove debris and foreign objects from the base.
Pre-laying of TPO membrane: Lay the membrane according to the predetermined position, and the membrane should be flat and straight without stretching the membrane.
Mechanical fixing of the lower edge of the lap area: Fix the membrane with fixing pieces. The center distance of the fixing pieces is determined by the local wind speed, the type of structural base, the height of the building, and the width of the membrane, and should not be greater than 600mm, and the Thermoplastic Polyolefins (TPO) membrane within a range of 800mm from the periphery should be filled with adhesive.
In addition, the membrane should be fixed at each roof height change, protruding wall of the prominent part, deformation joint, around the base shadow angle change with slope greater than 1/6, and all pipes and grouting sealant grooves.
Hot air welding: Use an automatic air welding machine or a handheld air welding machine and a silicone rubber roller to hot air weld the TPO membrane. At the intersection of all seams, the silicone roller should be used to roll the seam to ensure the continuity of the hot air welding seam. The irregular surface caused by the multi-layer thickness of the TPO membrane may cause false welding.
The base adhesive can be brushed on the base or the bottom surface of the membrane, and the brushing should be uniform, without revealing the bottom and no accumulation (strip sticking, point sticking, or empty laying can also be used).
The lap area is constructed by welding method. Weld the long side overlap first, and then the short side overlap.
The bonding method is suitable for various types of high-polymer waterproof membranes bonded with adhesive on the cement concrete base layer. The construction technology and key processes are the same as those adopted for bonding with adhesive.
The joint welding must be clean and free of dust, dirt, etc. If necessary, use solvents to scrub, otherwise it will affect the adhesion.
The adhesive should be applied evenly without exposing the bottom or accumulating.
Construction is strictly prohibited on rainy, snowy days, and construction must not be carried out when the wind is above level five.
